Tom Stuart-Smith is an internationally renowned landscape architect and garden designer. His design practice is known for making gardens that combine naturalism and modernity with work ranging from small private gardens to larger gardens and parks open to the public. He has also designed several award-winning gardens for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Cost: £60 (discounted to £50 for students with valid ID*)

tour of the garden with Tom and his two gardeners, Brian Maslin and Fabian Lee
introduction to various projects by members of the studio – this will be held in the barn
visit to the meadows and prairie
further talk by Tom – in the barn
visit to Serge Hill (2 minutes walk)
time permitting there will be a discussion for Q&As

Open to anyone interested in garden design and the work of Tom Stuart-Smith.
What to bring
As this is a private residence, on site catering will not be available. You are more than welcome to bring a picnic lunch – please pack your own food and drinks. Please bring your preferred form of note taking.
Directions and On Site Parking
The garden is 7 minutes from Kings Langley station, which is 25 minutes from London Euston. Alternatively, it is 20 minutes from St Alban’s station. Please note that due to low railway bridges nearby, it can be difficult for large coaches to turn on the narrow country roads. We suggest arriving by car. Further directions and parking instructions will be provided following payment and confirmation of your booking.
Cost
£60 (students £50 – student ID* will be required). All profit will be donated to Horatio’s Garden: planting hope for people living with paralysis.
*Students: please confirm you have student ID(s) for each attendee booked, and forward a copy of your valid student ID(s) to gillian@gilliangoodson.com following check-out to be confirmed on the course.
Terms and Conditions
Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis. We are not able to give refunds for cancellations. However, you are welcome to nominate someone to take your place provided you have notified us of their name and contact details prior to commencement of the course. We reserve the right to cancel any course at anytime. In the rare event that we need to cancel a course, you will be contacted and given the option to receive a full refund of your payment or transfer to another course of the same value, subject to availability.
*Where a student rate is selected, proof of a valid student ID must be sent to us via email (see contact information) prior to us being able to confirm your booking. One student ID required per attendee. We reserve the right to refuse admission on the course should proof of valid ID not be supplied prior to the commencement of the course. A refund will be given for the course fee paid less an administration charge of £10.
